Jess Neumann-Kersten, Ph.D., is a Project and Communications Director at Rankin Climate. In this role, Jess integrates her expansive project management experience with a passion for research and storytelling. Prior to joining Rankin Climate, Jess served as the Vice President of Research at the RW Jones Agency, developing comprehensive research strategies across a number of projects, including market viability research and brand perceptions. She also served as a contributor to Rankin Climate, including management of the organization’s sexual misconduct climate assessment consortium. She spent the previous 15 years at the University of Denver, including work in academic innovation and online program services. Jess is a first-generation student and earned her bachelor’s degree in media, culture and communication and gender and sexuality studies from New York University and masters and Ph.D. in communication studies from the University of Denver. Her research focuses on new media and, more specifically, how female fashion and lifestyle bloggers engage in different forms of (in)visible labor in service of the market.
