BIO

Carl H. (Kip) Sorgen is an Associate Professor with tenure in the Educational Leadership program at Georgia Southern University. His scholarship focuses on how to support queer college students from rural backgrounds.  He teaches in both the Master’s and Doctoral programs at Georgia Southern.  Dr. Sorgen’s administrative experience in higher education includes faculty development, institutional research, LGBTQ student services, residence life, and annual giving.  He holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the Pennsylvania State University, a Master’s degree from New York University in Higher Education Administration, and a Bachelor’s of Science from Ohio University.
