BIO
Antonio Duran, PhD (he/él) is an assistant professor in higher and postsecondary education at Arizona State University. Dr. Duran received his B.A. in English and American Literature from New York University, his M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Miami University, and Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. He previously served on faculty at Florida International University and Auburn University.
His research interests involve understanding how historical and contemporary legacies of oppression influence college student development, experiences, and success. Specifically, he is passionate about centering the lives of queer and trans communities, people of color, and those with multiple minoritized identities. You can find his research in the Journal of Higher Education, Journal of College Student Development, and Journal of Diversity in Higher Education.
